It is with great joy that United States Grand Lodge calls upon you to participate in Lover’s Triad Convocation III: Cultivating our Rose Garden. The Convocation is open to initiates of good standing of V° and higher. For registration information, see lovers.oto-usa.org.

This Convocation represents a sacred opportunity for our members to unite in fellowship, share wisdom, and strengthen the bonds that connect our diverse chapters across the nation. There will be presentations on degree symbolism, discussions of tools to assist in the mediation of disputes among members, and strategies for dealing with harassment, both in-person and online.

We welcome speaker proposals. Those interested should contact lovers.convocation@oto-usa.org for submission information or other questions.

Kaaba Colloquium to be resumed in 2023

Kaaba Colloquium, a twice-yearly leadership training program offered by U.S. Grand Lodge, will be resumed in 2023. The first planned location is Baltimore. This new version (“Kaaba IV”) will feature a new group of presenters covering material freshly designed for current and aspiring local body leaders. Watch the Kaaba site for more information.

NOTOCON 2021 cancelled

Due to the continuing spread of COVID-19 and the slow pace of immunization, we have, with much reluctance, decided to cancel our arrangements with the Denver hotel for NOTOCON XIII this year. If all goes well, NOTOCON XIII will be held at the same venue in the summer of 2023 ᴇᴠ. We will be skipping 2022 ᴇᴠ to keep with our odd-year history and to avoid interfering with other events scheduled for the summer of 2022 ᴇᴠ.

The Conference Committee is currently investigating various alternatives for online U.S.G.L. membership events this summer. We also encourage local bodies to continue scheduling their own online events throughout the year.

Local body public events calendar

The Education Committee of U.S. Grand Lodge provides a Google calendar which includes public events offered by an ever-growing number of U.S. local bodies. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly all O.T.O. activity is currently happening online. This means that you can attend events hosted by local bodies all over the country without leaving home.

Convocation of Lovers postponed

The Convocation of Lovers scheduled for August 2020 in Cleveland has been indefinitely postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Those with hotel reservations for this event should cancel them. There should be no cancellation fee charged if you made a reservation at the Courtyard Cleveland Westlake using the conference reservation link.

USGL summer 2020 events update

The in-person annual U.S. Grand Lodge Joint Meeting scheduled for July 2020 in Oakland CA has been canceled. Individual governing bodies will meet online; members of those bodies will receive further information. A decision on whether the Convocation of Lovers scheduled for August 2020 in Cleveland OH will be canceled will be announced by April …

Spring 2020 gatherings cancelled

Out of an abundance of caution regarding the developing COVID-19 situation, U.S. Grand Lodge has decided to cancel its scheduled national gatherings this spring, specifically Advanced Initiator Training, Kaaba Colloquium, and the Electoral College meeting. The Electoral College meeting will be held online according to standard Electoral College procedures.

For more information regarding COVID-19, please refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website (cdc.gov/nCoV).

U.S. Grand Lodge also recommends that local bodies monitor their local situations, and cancel local gatherings if appropriate, e.g., if schools close in their area or official advisories are issued.

U.S. Grand Lodge will continue to monitor the national situation, and will reschedule the canceled events when it is prudent to do so.
